Girl Time

I've been blessed with lots of girl time this month. (See Slideshow below)

I was able to get away one night with one of my co-workers. Contrary to what most of you may think...I don't hit the town hardly ever anymore, but she and I decided to go listen to some live music...we are in Music City after all. Well, we ended up at this place listening to a long haired band called LC Rocks. They were an awesome 70's-80's band. They all had the long curly hair, eyeliner & spandex on...& they actually had these fans under the stage that blowing up..causing their hair to blow...just like in the video's. They were really cool!
When Christi came down...we went to Marta's wedding on Saturday morning & then met some friends at Carlos & Charlies for lunch. It was really nice to catch up with some old buddies from 2nd Baptist in H-town. After that...we played it low key. Went to IHOP & then Gateway on Sunday. Was a very nice weekend.
Then...the next weekend Audrey came into town. Friday night we hung out, ordered take out. Saturday was really fun, though. We went to several re-sale, vintage & halloween specialty stores. We had a blast & found several great buys. We also took care of our costumes for halloween. She is going to be Gwen Stephanie & I'm Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast.

IKE followed me this month....

This past month has been really crazy.
I went with my family to see the Titanic Exhibit in Galveston, the week before IKE hit....
My parents fared IKE pretty well....he didn't hit Matagorda like projected
& so they just got limbs down & loss of electricity for a couple days. They came
and stayed with me for about four days...it was really nice.
Then I flew to Columbus to find out that IKE came to see them. The whole town was out of electricity, except for downtown, where I stayed.
Then from there...I went to Detroit (see pics) Michigan is beautiful! I was expecting
the hood, but as you can see It was covered in tree's and lakes. Another think that I LOVED was that all of their highways had a minimum speed!

Flower has left the building....

I know how much you all LOVED Flower... =) ...but sadly, I had to find her a new home. I travel way too much & she needed more attention than I could give her. I cried for 4 hours yesterday...it was hard for me to do...but she will be better off.
GoodBye Flower

Chicago Trip

Just got back from a trip to Chicago. It was a good time....I stayed in the Palmer Hilton in downtown Chicago...was beautiful...but the above ground train/subway was right outside of the hotel & kept me up all night....
The show went well....but glad to be home. I wont travel again for a week....& will be heading for Dallas. Can't wait to see Audrey while I'm there.

Roadtrip!

So, last weekend...Anne & I hopped in my car & drove to Port Lavaca...because we had La Quinta points & there was a LQ in Port Lavaca. =) Fun stuff!!! Anyways, she just needed to get out of the house for the weekend & I wanted to go see my cousin's new baby girl. The trip was quite interesting. We had a great time! Friday night we just drove down...& fell asleep early. Saturday morning we drove to Mathis to spend the day with my family & that night we drove down to Corpus & spent the night there.
There are plenty of pictures below to tell the story....but here are some highlights....
1.) While driving down some random back road...we see these signs posted in front of this rundown house....WIFE NEEDED, Muy Bueno, Muy Caliente...then it listed all of his supposed 'qualities' & a phone number....we had to take pics....btw...for those are you who know me best...YES...I called the number...lol Curiosity got the best of me...but no one answered!
2.) I met Alvin in the Wal-Mart parking lot of Port Lavaca...he was very freindly.
3.) We toured a Surf Shop & met the cutest little guy ever, Kolby....too young for me ... but I have someone in mind for him. =)
4.) While wondering through the little shopping area...We meet Damien, an Aussie who is in the ReCon Army? Not exactly sure what that is...but he and his were from all over the world & were very entertaining.
5.) My favorite....the Corpus hotel that we stayed in was having a ......... Jehovah's Witness Conference! How random is that?? LOL

Last week, after getting back from NY, the IT Logistics team that I work with all went to 300 Bowl...which is a high class bowling alley. (Yes...they exist)
We had a blast & enjoyed cutting loose...all of us are about to hit the road for the rest of this year...so it was nice to chill & spend time with everyone! (slideshow below)
